So Far, Democrats Are Giving Trump a Good Shot at Re-Election

WASHINGTON, D.C. July 17 (DPI) – It’s hard to imagine that a president who regularly denigrates half the US population has a shot at re-election. But the political organization opposing him – the Democratic party – appears to be, so far at least, making every effort to hand him another four years in office.

Since the two debates earlier this month – which highlighted the divisions within the party, and the willingness of many candidates to focus on out-of-the-mainstream issues – the Democrats have shown a knack for infighting. And they’re sparring with themselves even after Trump this weekend lobbed racist, go-back-where-you-came-from tweets at the four freshmen congresswomen who are seeking to lead America’s new radical left.

Comment boards across the internet – reflecting a widely held view even among moderates and independents that Trump has damaged the nation and needs to be removed from office – convey the view that the Democrats aren’t doing themselves any favors.

Republicans, many of whom dislike Trump personally but largely support his policies, regard the disarray of the Democrats a welcome development. In particular, they view the emergence of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of “the best thing that’s happened to the Republican Party in a decade.”

Among the most popular comments in WSJ.com today:

Why would Trump need the Russians to rig the elections for him when the Dems are giving him AOC?!

She’s the best thing that has happened to the GOP in a decade.

It is my fervent wish that Occasionally-Cognitive remains the Democrats’ leading voice leading up to November 2020. Give her all the publicity she wants.
