WASHINGTON, D.C. July 23 (DPI) – Trump went ALL CAPS in his frighteningly unhinged tweet directed toward Iran today. But readers, now almost uniformly disgusted with this president, offered various sane and responsible reactions to it all: “I’ve got to bet that he’s violated Twitter rules on threats and bullying,” wrote one of the most popular comments on NYTimes.com this morning.
Virtually every popular comment – on Twitter, on WSJ.com, on NYTimes.com – echoed the same refrain: “How do we outlast this guy?”

Every week the world waits. Another headline. Another threat of fire and fury. Trade. Agreements. Environment. Relations of all kind. This Whitehouse once a symbol of democracy now seems unhindered in its capacity for instability with no resistance from its elected body. Not Congress. Not Senate. Not Jury. The whole world waits for this to stop.
He “makes love” to Putin, rebukes Jerome Powell for the Fed’s continued snail-like pace of interest rate increases, goad Joe Biden, continues his Goebbelesque treatment of the free press, and wastes millions of millions of dollars of our money on his weekly excursions to Mar-a-Lago and his NJ golf club. And now he threatens Iran in all caps on Twitter. And Ryan and McConnell are out to sea, never, ever calling Trump out for his repeated assault on our democracy. It is shameful in every sense of the word.
Well, I guess he is counting on his North Korea playbook since it has been so wildly successful. We are all sleeping so well now that the nuclear threat has been completely removed. Here we go again. Step one, send outraged vague threatening tweet. Step two, bestow nickname. Step three, escalate threats and continue into general assembly meeting at the UN. Step four, have meeting where nothing is accomplished; other side gets the best of you but you are too clueless to realize it. Step five, find another antagonist, somewhere in the world.
In 2007 a mortar round blew up only 2 feet from my head at an Iraqi Police station and killed another US Soldier who was only an arm’s length away. It was stamped Sakte Iran (made in Iran) in Farsi on the side of the tail fin shrapnel that we found and had a date stamp of 2006. That pretty much cemented my permanent dislike of the Mullah’s in Iran.
That said, the subtlety of the Obama methodology to control Iran was far superior to the Trump Twitter War Threats because the Obama method didn’t have so much potential to galvanize the Iranian people. Indeed, the Mullahs were being forced to introduce reforms to keep the peace under the “soft” Obama doctrine. Trump however is doing his best to give the Mullahs exactly the kind of public support they need for expanded operations against American targets all over the Middle East and against Israel itself.
Do your job Republicans. God Speed Mueller.“Never ever . . . the likes of which . . . few throughout history . . . have ever”—
More megalomania, and we’re seeing the mania. This is mental illness. The problem is, he has somehow been elected president and continues to be enabled.
