WASHINGTON, D.C. Nov. 19 (DPI) – His legal challenges thwarted, Trump is now trying to influence Republican election officials in Wayne County, Michigan, a stunningly reckless move that in normal times would likely get him arrested.

WashingtonPost.com continuously updated a top-of-page report that Trump last night called the two officials – ostensibly to wish them well – and he is now inviting them to the White House. Trump, by all accounts, is trying to keep the county’s election results from being certified by the state, and undermine the election results.

Attached to the report on WaPo: More than 12,000 reader comments, posted in a matter of hours. Most of the comments expressed varying levels of shock, renewed calls for impeachment, and condemnation of the Republican Party, among other declarations.

Oh no you don’t!  Damn you spoiled entitled Republicans!  You do not get takebacks and endless bites at the apple – you lost this election fair and square and yes you absolutely are a bunch of racists who are trying to disenfranchise the people of Wayne County but worse you are attempting to enable a fascist coup in the USA.

Have you no decency?  No patriotism? No honor? 

The Republican party disgusts me on such a visceral level that I cannot give any member of that party the benefit of the doubt for any reason. They do not deserve it. The party has become an unruly mob of personality cultists who simply cannot accept that they lost an election. Nor can they accept the fact that their candidate is and will forever remain a deeply flawed criminal whose only allegiance is to himself and to himself alone.  

The only reason this coup attempt appears to be on the fast-track to failure is because everyone involved with it is an imbecile.
