WASHINGTON, D.C. June 26 (DPI) – Trump took his mindless bombast to yet another new level this week by threatening Harley Davidson Motorcycles for planning to relocate manufacturing jobs overseas – a response to retaliatory European tariffs that Trump himself triggered.
The absurdity of threatening a US company for making rational business decision left nearly all Americans – including free-market, traditionally GOP-leaning conservatives – breathless in their amazed condemnation of Trump. “A company opens up a foreign plant and Trump thinks it’s a personal jab. The man is off his rocker,” wrote one WSJ.com poster this morning.
A sample of tweets from Trump, as posted on WSJ.com
“A Harley-Davidson should never be built in another country-never! Their employees and customers are already very angry at them,” Mr. Trump wrote in a series of tweets Tuesday morning. “If they move, watch, it will be the beginning of the end – they surrendered, they quit! The Aura will be gone and they will be taxed like never before!”

I miss the days when Republicans did not threaten businesses for their decisions. I miss the days Republicans repudiated using the power of the government to steer corporations. I miss the days when free enterprise was still the platform of the Republican party.
How long will this idiot go on? He may be a genius at getting people angry but he doesn’t know jack about anything else.
So Trump threatens a US company which is making a rational business decision because of Trump’s tariffs. Sad and thuggush.
Can someone get this animal out of the WH, ASAP? Since when American presidents interfere so publicly in how private businesses are run. Are we in Soviet Union or Israel?
I thought Republicans were against picking winners and losers.
Is Harley Davidson a politician trying to win favor with voters? Or a business trying to make good business decisions for its investors? If he has any hope of winning he shouldn’t be publicly attacking US companies.
Like a child he throws a temper tantrum when he does not get his way– here because his trade war is causing American manufacturing and jobs to move overseas. But a child has a parent to keep him in check. Where is the GOP to keep this child in check?
Everything is personal. A company opens up a foreign plant and Trump thinks its a personal jab. The man is off his rocker.
And some folks still wonder why this guy went bankrupt many times over?
